A glimpse of my Journals

Journal 1, Genre:

It’s really funny that I never knew the meaning of genre before I started the course. I never realized how important genre is to signify the depth of any literary piece. I think poems are very bold example of how genre can entirely change the whole writing. Poems are more bold and strong.

Journal 2, the Walk:

I went to the Roosevelt Island just to take a walk. I don’t know what happened to me but I was really fighting with myself that day. My emotions seemed like a rollercoaster. I felt anxious for no reason. Taking a walk by the Hudson river really calmed my mind. It was little cold but still the breeze was breathtaking. I never felt so calmed and relaxed before.

Journal 3, the Listening:

I went to a local grocery store with my mom. The place was quite crowdy. I could hardly find a space to stand. Most of the people were talking in Bengali language as the area is highly populated with the Bengalis. Even though I speak and understand Bengali completely I was struggling to understand it. The sentences seemed really short and informal.

Journal 4, Time Travel:

If I had the chance to time travel outside of 2022, I would go back in 2020 and delete some people from my life. The people whom I trusted the most, hurted me the most. I would not want such people in my life. Also, I made a few mistakes in those two years. Thus, by going back to the past I can rectify my mistakes.

Journal 5, Best Compliment:

The best compliment I have ever received in my life is from my best friend. He once told me that I have a really good heart. He also said that I never think of myself. Rather, I always think about others and try to make them happy. This really made my day.
